5 out of 5 stars Greatest Product Ever!   June 17, 2009

I bought mine at baby's-r-us but wanted to write a review none the less. After my mom & I bouncing, rocking, rolling, collapsing, etc. about 20 different strollers and car seats, we/I finally picked this one.

The special kicker was when, after about 30 min in store not only 1 random stranger said it was the greatest system she'd ever used (and we were testing these for about 2 hours) but 1.5 hours in, another lady walked by with hers and said it was the greatest too.

Im pretty short and not that strong and was 8 months along when trying to lift and move it, and I found it quite easy to collapse the stroller and re-stand it. Its extreamly sturdy and balanced as I naturally think about side to side tipping, etc. Here are some pros I found that made this FAR SUPERIOR to all the others we tested, including Graco, Evenflo, Gerber, etc.

-car seat snaps into stroller in 3 places and has a buckle to tie it to it as well, if you want to use it. I liked this since not only could you not tip the seat out front ways but it would not move side to side either. This was a problem on most travel systems we found.

-the try on the front of the stroller not only has slides to remove for ease of getting your kiddo out, but can be removed entirely, if desired. ALL the other strollers only let this pivot to one side so it was attached even if you didnt want it. Also, on this part and the back by the pushing arm have cup holders with inserts that can be removed and put in the dishwasher. A total plus to not have to get into those nooks & crannys too. The push arm bar is also completely repositionable for short or tall people.

-all the cloths, in both the stroller and carseat are removable to wash. None of the others we tested would come off completely so this was a big bonus that I wouldnt have to hand wash or try to get into nooks & crannys.

-comes with infant support items like the usual terry cloth puffy neck guard thing that most of the time you would need to buy separate. Its already attached straight out of the box so you dont have to fuss with it, incase your little one comes early.

-the only thing to "assemble" was the stroller and that was pretty much only attacing the wheels and the top visor. It took all of 10 min maybe.

-where you see plastic, on the outside, there is metal on the inside. This is quite reassuring that if in a car accident or anything that the frames and all will remain sturdy and safe.

-price was a factor, but my mom put it to me this way, for an extra 100ish dollars (since I had been looking at 100-150 gracos and things at walmart) you could know that cleaning was easier, its sturdyer, and reccomended highly by people with several children (the two women had 3 &6 kids respectively) who had used other makes and said this one was the best.

Long story short- BUY THIS ONE FOR A BIT MORE MONEY THAN ANOTHER! YOU WONT REGRET IT!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Car Seat; very durable and so easy to use.   October 25, 2009

We thought long and hard about which car seat to get. We settled on this one for the following reasons:
1) the minimum weight for the seat is 4lbs, we never thought we would have a medical emergency when we purchased the seat, but we did. Our daughter was born just over 5lbs. Hospitals require that all children under 6lbs do a oxygen test in the car seats to check if the position of the car seat hinders any oxygen supply for small infants. This car seat passed with flying colors and the nurse noted that only a handful of Graco car seats ever passed.
2) It is made out of quality durable material-- some of the graco car seat fabric seemed really cheap. It also very easy to clean.
3) The adjustments are very easy, just one easy pull. So easy-- none of that fliping the seat over and adjusting straps.
4) it was very nice looking seat, we still really admire it.
5) fits in all grocery cars
6) the infant inserts seemed very comfy and they did a great job holding the head steady.

Also, we thought the only negative to the seat was that the weight is only up to 22lbs. However, this turned out to NOT be an issue. Our daughter was just around 22lbs on her first birthday and i cannot imagine trying to carry a child over 22lbs in a car seat, that will be so heavy. Plus children already walk.

5 out of 5 stars Best carseat/stroller combo ever!   September 12, 2009

I thought about and researched carseats and strollers for a long time before I decided on this one. I love how sturdy the carseat is. The handle does not waiver at all, once its locked into place, its not budging! I also love how easily it is to manuver the stroller, especially because I have a 3 year old that has to hold my hand while walking. This carseat/stroller makes this busy Mom very happy!!

5 out of 5 stars Best Purchase I made   February 7, 2010

I will admit, I did not buy this travel system right at the beginning. I started with a different stroller and carseat that I ended up being unhappy with. I love the Chicco travel system for many reasons.

It is extremely sturdy and safe for my baby. My baby likes the carseat and is very comfortable in it (he did not like the first carseat I purchased). The stroller is easy to fold. And while the stroller is a little bit heaveier and bulkier than I would like it to be, I now feel it is worth it because it is so sturdy.

The only thing I would change about the car seat is that I would make the sun shade bigger. And the only thing I would change about the stroller is that I would have a velcro cover for the window in the top because my friends baby got a sunburn through it. She told me about that so I keep a blanket over the window so that it does not happen to my baby.

This is the only one stroller and car seat system I own, but I did research a long time before the purchase.
I went to local stores to see and feel other brands, but they don't have enough cushion, most with just one layer of fabric over plastic on the infant car seat and I'm not sure I want to put my baby in it. And the stroller, it's so easy to steer/maneuver, I'm strolling my baby inside my house every day and never had a problem turning around corners and narrow hallways (sure I do outside as well when it's not too hot or cold).

Also my baby likes staying seated in the stroller, I can leave her buckled in for a good 20min. and she even naps in there :-) thanks to the reclining seat.
